LC State invites applications for the position of Site Program Administrator - Medical Lab Technology.

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $65,000 - $70,000.

Degree Required: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Required Qualifications:

  • ASCP BOC or ASCPi BOC generalist certification as a medical laboratory scientist.
  • At least one year of experience in medical laboratory science education to include knowledge of: education methods, program assessment and administration, and certification/licensure procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with curriculum development
  • Experience with program accreditation
  • Experience teaching in a clinical lab setting
  • Experience recruiting, advising, and mentoring students
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and develop strong internal and external partnerships
  • Demonstrated ability to provide direction and oversight to staff/students/student workers

Responsibilities:

The Site Program Administrator is responsible for:

• Coordinating teaching and clinical/applied learning education
• Evaluating program effectiveness
• Maintaining appropriate communications with the program director
• Providing leadership and oversight of the MLT program operations, including program development, curriculum, budgeting, and staff management
• Facilitating curriculum development and revision processes in collaboration with the Idaho Consortium for Medical Laboratory Technology Education, and in alignment with industry standards and accreditation requirements
• Collaborating with industry partners, healthcare facilities, and employers to ensure programs meet workforce demands
• Facilitating campus program approval processes
• Coordinating the schedule of MLT program offerings
• Managing all clinical lab functions, including inventory management (monitoring and ordering of all student supplies), set-up for all lab sessions, and instructing didactic and lab courses needed for MLT program completion
• The setup, maintenance, and monitoring of all equipment and testing activities
• Advising NHS - CTE Assistant Chair on issues relative to MLT program
• Coordinating with NHS - CTE Assistant Chair to align MLT program operations and facilitate collaboration amongst allied health programs
• Assisting in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of other allied health CTE programs
• Teaching in the MLT program
• Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
