Purpose of the job
This position directs all day-to-day activities of the site consistent with company policies and procedures.
This person provides motivation and leadership to site operations; empowering the organization to maximize operational capability and breakthrough results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Cost.
This role is a member of the Regional Leadership Team and will be a key change agent partnering with Human Resources, Quality, Sales, Supply Chain, Engineering, Technical and Accounting/Finance to develop and execute strategies to achieve expected levels of EBITDA, Cash Flow, and business growth for the site.
Main Responsibilities
1. Establish and implement manufacturing policies and procedures that ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations in alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
2. Oversee daily operational decision-making, ensuring site-level safety, quality, and productivity targets are met.
3. Develop and execute performance plans that align with business objectives, covering key areas such as Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), quality standards, customer satisfaction, productivity, cost control, and employee development.
4. Collaborate with the Regional Leadership Team to meet the needs of both internal and external customers, ensuring seamless communication and alignment.
5. Recruit, develop, and retain a motivated workforce, fostering a high level of morale and performance that supports exceptional operational outcomes.
6. Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS), maintaining ISO certification and adhering to all regulatory requirements.
7. Support long-range Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) for all product lines, contributing to strategic capacity and demand forecasting.
8. Maximize the value and development of human resources by working with the Regional Leadership Team to optimize workforce performance while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and corporate regulations (EEO, AAP, OSHA, EPA).
9. Optimize the utilization of manufacturing assets, ensuring alignment with production plans and schedules to achieve operational efficiency.
10. Recommend and implement capital investments that improve productivity and align production capacity with sales volume objectives.
11. Foster a culture of teamwork and effective communication within the operations team, driving continuous improvement and building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
12. Enhance workplace quality of life by promoting open communication, supporting employee involvement teams, and maintaining clean, safe, and healthy working conditions.
13. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management to support overall business goals.
Main challenges & complexity
• Responsible for two manufacturing facilities totaling more than 200,000 ft2 and operating 10 production departments across 3-shifts, up to 7 days per week.
• Operate diverse set of manufacturing assets: (50) Injection Molding Machines running (102) Injection Molds with 20-96 cavities, (3) Extrusion Lines, (17) High-speed Automated Actuator Assembly Machines, (3) High-speed Laser Cells, (5) Progressive Dies Stamping Presses, (22) High-speed Automated Aerosol Valve Sub-Assembly and Final Assembly Lines, (1) Bag-on-valve Assembly Line and (1) Class 8 Medical Clean Room
• Manufacture over 2,500 finished products supplied ≥ 200 external customers located in North America and 11 internal customers located across 6 continents.
Communication
• Internal contacts: Site Operations Team, Regional Leadership Team, and Corporate or Operations Leadership Teams across the PRECISION group.
• External contacts: Customers, Suppliers, Vendors, and Board of Directors.
Knowledge
• Education/diplomas: Bachelor or master’s degree in business, engineering and/or manufacturing/operations.
• Professional background: 10+ years of progressive experience in key leadership and management roles in manufacturing and operations.
• Languages: English
• Tools & software: Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite of programs, comfortable with use of ERP programs (Infor A/S 400 a plus).
• Functional skills requirement: Experience working in a manufacturing environment for Injection Molding, Extrusion, Progressive Die Stamping and/or High-speed automated assembly equipment. Experience leading cross-functional teams in the use of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and various problem-solving techniques to drive operational improvement. Experience and understanding of budgeting and expense management.
