About the Role
The Site Director is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and operational excellence of the semiconductor manufacturing site. This role holds full accountability for safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and people leadership, while ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer, and corporate standards.
The Site Director is the senior site leader tasked with leading all aspects of day-to-day operations. This role is responsible for all site functions including Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, Quality, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS). This leader partners closely with IQE’s corporate functions including Sales/Business Development, Technology, Supply Chain, IT, HR, and Finance to achieve business objectives, support growth, and drive continuous improvement. The Site Director serves as the site’s point of contact for customers, auditors, and local authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership, being fully accountable for site performance and operational results
- Ultimate responsibility for the site’s key process metrics including those for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, Yield, and Employee Engagement
- Lead and manage all site functions, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Equipment Maintenance, Facilities, EHS, and Quality
- Develop and execute site-level tactical and strategic plans aligned with corporate objectives
- Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, yield and cost improvement)
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, safety, quality, and customer requirements, including audit readiness and corrective actions
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales/Business Development, Technology, Supply Chain, HR, IT, and Finance to support business growth and operational performance
- Manage site operational performance, including budgeting, cost control, and capital planning
- Lead workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives in partnership with HR
- Support process optimization, equipment readiness, and new technology introductions
- Serve as the primary site representative for all internal and external stakeholders
- Lead change management initiatives to support capacity expansion, operational transformation, and organizational effectiveness
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and high performance

Experience Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in semiconductor manufacturing, advanced materials, or a related manufacturing environment
- Proven experience leading a manufacturing site, plant, or large-scale production operation
- Experience driving operational performance, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience managing cross-functional teams in a technical manufacturing environment
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline
- Advanced degree preferred
