Shipping/Receiving Operator
Shift: 1st – 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Job Summary:
- This position has the responsibility for ensuring all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly documented and accounted for.
- Prepare the necessary documentation for shipments in accordance with current laws and regulations.
- Maintain all documentation related to shipments/receipts including production orders while at an outsourcing operation.
- Process incoming deliveries and deliver required items as necessary to their locations.
- Maintain WPO and 5s activities of shipping / receiving dock area to maintain control, organization, and flow of material inbound and outbound for the facility.
- Perform physical inventory counts.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure and promote safe, healthy, and environmentally sound working conditions.
- Manage outgoing shipments · This includes pulling product, mark, package and box for shipment. Process outgoing shipment via UPS system or create bill of lading for a truck shipment. A high attention to detail is required.
- Manage incoming shipments · Process receipts for UPS, outsourcing vendors, and general deliveries · Receive and unpack interplant deliveries · Receive packaging materials and put to storage locations. Load and unload trucks
- Monitor / Order boxes, labels, packing, and other shipping supplies
- Cycle counts when time permits.
- Performs production operations as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining and ensuring workplace organization
- Backup support for shipper functions
- Perform functions in MRP/ERP system required to process shipments to customers.
- Performs job duties in accordance with area work instructions
Position requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Computer literacy and able to use Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be able to read and understand operating procedures
- A high attention to detail is required
