Shipping Clerk

Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Utility Operator | $20-21 HR

Job Description

This role supports production and logistics by accurately pulling parts for manufacturing, completing domestic shipping and receiving transactions in the computer system, and assisting with finishing, packaging, and material handling tasks. You will use pallet jacks and tow motors to move materials, load and unload trucks, and help maintain a clean, efficient, and well-organized facility.

Responsibilities

• Pull parts and materials for production orders using a pallet jack and tow motor as needed.
• Assist production with finishing parts, including etching, basic quality checks, and packaging as required.
• Complete domestic shipping and receiving information accurately in the computer system.
• Prepare outbound shipments, including labeling, documentation, and carrier processing (e.g., FedEx).
• Perform shipping and receiving duties, including verifying counts, inspecting materials, and updating inventory records.
• Load and unload trucks safely using appropriate material handling equipment.
• Use RF scanners to pick, track, and verify inventory and orders.
• Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts and stock organization.
• Operate manufacturing machinery as needed to support production flow.
• Perform general material handling tasks throughout the facility to keep production running smoothly.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and assist with cleaning the facility as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines at all times.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• At least 2 years of experience working with inventory control processes or systems.
• At least 2 years of manufacturing experience operating machinery.
• Experience using pallet jacks and operating tow motors or similar powered industrial trucks.
• Hands-on experience with domestic shipping software and carrier systems (such as FedEx).
• Proficiency in basic computer use to enter and retrieve shipping, receiving, and inventory data.
• Ability to use RF scanners for picking, tracking, and inventory control.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Comfort working in a production, shipping, and receiving environment with changing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and material handling.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned first-shift schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as a utility operator, order picker, production helper, or shipping clerk.
• Experience with quality inspection in a production or warehouse setting.
• Familiarity with packaging processes and materials for industrial products.
• Experience in material handling, including staging, organizing, and replenishing stock.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a production and logistics team.
• Willingness to assist in different areas of the operation as business needs change.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift position, working approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in a clean, well-lit, temperature-controlled manufacturing and warehouse facility. The operation uses mostly new equipment, including modern machines and material handling tools such as pallet jacks, tow motors, and RF scanners. The back part of the facility is brand new, and the organization is actively revamping operations with new machines and an updated layout to support efficiency and safety. Work involves standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds repeatedly, and moving materials throughout the day. The facility emphasizes a safe, orderly, and professional environment, with employees expected to maintain a neat appearance suitable for a modern manufacturing and shipping operation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CLEVELAND, OH.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
