Job Title: Forklift Operator and Shipping Associate
Job Description

This role combines hands-on forklift operation with shipping and inventory responsibilities in a manufacturing environment. You will load and unload trucks and containers, manage shipping through major carriers, and help maintain accurate inventory across the facility. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical, fast-paced work, takes safety seriously, and is comfortable operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate both sit-down and stand-up forklifts to move materials throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload trucks and containers efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain adequate supplies for the shipping area to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Prepare and ship outgoing mail and packages using FedEx and UPS systems.
  • Oversee inventory throughout the facility to support accurate stock levels and material flow.
  • Use handheld scanners to track inventory movement and maintain accurate records.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and handling materials.
  • Support general warehouse and shipping tasks as needed to meet production and shipping schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inventory, shipments, and any issues that arise.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Comfort and proficiency with both sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more consistently throughout the shift.
  • Experience loading and unloading trucks and containers.
  • Ability to use scanners to track and record inventory movement.
  • Strong commitment to working safely and following established procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience shipping with FedEx and UPS is preferred.
  • Familiarity with general shipping and receiving processes in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
  • Attention to detail when handling inventory and shipping documentation.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with other departments.
  • Willingness to learn multiple jobs within the facility to support cross-training and growth.

Work Environment

You will work in a smaller manufacturing facility with about 30 team members across both shifts and a close-knit night shift team of approximately five people. The environment is laid back yet safety-focused, with a strong emphasis on proper equipment use and safe work practices. The facility is non-climate controlled and can get hot in the summer, but it is well-ventilated to help maintain a manageable temperature, and refreshments such as water stations and popsicles are available, particularly on warmer days. The role is physically active, involves regular forklift operation and material handling, and takes place in a typical industrial setting with standard warehouse and manufacturing equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seville, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.53 - $24.03/hr.
