Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate - Paying $20-24/hr Depending on Experience!

Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Associate packages and prepares pumps for shipment, supports material handling activities, and assists with general warehouse operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on accurately picking parts, packaging 60–70 pumps per day, labeling products, and moving them through the packaging line, with opportunities to cross-train in other departments and learn forklift operation.

Shift: 1st 7:00 a.m. - 3:30p.m. Monday-Friday

Responsibilities

  • Package approximately 60–70 pumps per day, ensuring each unit is securely and correctly packed for shipment.
  • Use a hoist or other lifting equipment to safely handle larger pumps weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Review and follow pick-lists to locate and retrieve the correct products and components from inventory.
  • Bring picked products to the packaging line, place them in boxes, and prepare them for shipment according to standards.
  • Print and apply labels and name plates accurately to each pump and package.
  • Move completed packages down the line to the appropriate staging or shipping area.
  • Perform general shipping and receiving tasks, including loading and unloading materials as needed.
  • Use RF scanners to track inventory, confirm picks, and maintain accurate records of materials and orders.
  • Operate pallet jacks and, once trained, forklifts to move materials safely throughout the facility.
  • Assist with order picking and packing for outgoing shipments and internal transfers.
  • Maintain an organized work area and follow all safety and housekeeping guidelines.
  • Participate in cross-training to support other areas of the operation beyond packaging when needed.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and supporting coworkers to meet production goals.
  • Show initiative in learning the products, parts, and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures related to quality, safety, and production standards.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 months of warehouse or material handling experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • At least 1 year of work history in a team-based environment.
  • Experience with material handling tasks such as loading, unloading, and moving products.
  • Experience in shipping and receiving, order picking, and packing.
  • Ability to use RF scanners for picking and inventory tracking.
  • Experience with pallet jacks and basic warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and use hoists or lifting devices for heavier items.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn new products and processes.
  • Reliability, consistent attendance, and the ability to maintain a steady work pace in a production setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is highly beneficial.
  • Previous exposure to packaging operations or production work.
  • Familiarity with forklifts or an interest in receiving forklift training.
  • Comfort working with a variety of products, parts, and configurations to avoid repetitive tasks.
  • Attention to detail when labeling, naming, and packaging products.
  • Strong character and a positive attitude toward teamwork and continuous learning.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, organized, and safety-focused manufacturing environment with roughly 100 employees across two buildings. One building houses CNC machining centers that produce parts for pumps, valves, and kits, while the other focuses on assembly and shipping/receiving operations. The team assembles around 15,000 pumps per year, and while it is production work, the wide variety of pumps, valves, and kits keeps the work diverse and engaging rather than repetitive. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with voluntary overtime available. Start times are flexible, and candidates may begin at 6:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m., or 8:00 a.m. as long as they are consistent. Steel-toed boots are required, and temporary employees can purchase them and receive reimbursement up to a specified amount. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
