Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist works in the warehouse shipping and receiving areas, handling a wide range of electrical supplies from small boxed parts to large spools of wiring. This role is responsible for unloading incoming trucks, accurately processing inventory in the computer system, and preparing outbound shipments for customers and internal use. The position combines hands-on material handling with basic computer and scanning tasks to ensure orders are accurate, shipments are on time, and inventory records remain up to date.

Responsibilities

• Work in the shipping or receiving areas of the warehouse to support daily operations.
• Unload incoming trucks and flatbeds safely and efficiently using appropriate material handling equipment.
• Receive electrical supplies ranging from small boxed parts to large spools of wiring and verify that all items match packing lists and purchase orders.
• Package and prepare electrical supplies for shipment, including labeling small boxes and preparing large spools of wiring for internal processing or outbound delivery.
• Use RF scanners and computer systems to input products into inventory, update records, and maintain accurate stock levels.
• Set up shipments in the computer system, including entering shipment details, printing labels, and preparing documentation as needed.
• Coordinate shipments with vendors and carriers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
• Perform order picking and packing for outbound orders, ensuring all items are correct and properly packaged.
• Conduct inventory control activities such as cycle counts and warehouse inventory checks to maintain accurate records.
• Use pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload materials as required.
• Perform data entry related to shipping, receiving, and inventory in systems such as SAP or similar platforms.
• Handle heavy lifting and manual material handling tasks safely and consistently throughout the shift.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the loading and receiving zones.
• Follow all standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and on-boarding requirements.
• Work flexible hours, including extended shifts and weekends when business needs require it, and remain on site until daily work is completed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rayville, LA.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Rayville,LA.

This position is anticipated to close on Apr 20, 2026.
