Sheet Metal Fabricator - El Cajon, California - 1st & 2nd Shifts Available

$25/hr-$30/hr

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator to operate rollers for sheet metal fabrication, focusing on tight tolerance of 30 thou. This role involves setting up machines autonomously and handling tasks such as sheet metal bending and rolling. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using precision measurement tools including combo squares, calipers, and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up machines for sheet metal fabrication, including shear, CNC Turret Punch Press, Punch Press, Press Brake, and power roller.
• Perform sheet metal bending, rolling, planishing, roll form, and bump form.
• Use precision measurement tools to ensure dimensional tolerances are met according to engineering drawings.
• Check all operations from material gauge and type through shearing, punching, or forming.
• Work independently and collaboratively to develop guidelines for the production of sheet metal assemblies.
• Willingness to work at assigned jobs within or outside the sheet metal department.

Essential Skills

• Experience in sheet metal fabrication, including CNC press brake and sheet metal bending.
• Proficiency in operating shear, CNC Turret Punch Press, Punch Press, Press Brake, power roller, and resistance seam welder.
• Ability to figure shear size and flat pattern layout using height gauges and other precision instruments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with durma, wysong, amada, Cincinnati, and Brake press equipment.
• Skills in spot welding and roll welding.
• Ability to fabricate parts to dimensional tolerances as required by engineering drawings.

Work Environment

This position is available on both 1st and 2nd shifts. The 1st shift runs from 6 AM to 4:30 PM with four openings, while the 2nd shift is from 4 PM to 2:30 AM with one opening. The job involves repetitive tasks, making pieces in batches of 20-30, with approximately 2-3 different setups daily. Our facility supports a collaborative and dynamic work atmosphere, ensuring that each team member has the tools and guidance needed to succeed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, CA.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $35.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in El Cajon,CA.
