Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Service Writer to serve as the primary point of contact between our customers and our service team. This role supports the repair and maintenance of fire trucks and emergency vehicles and plays a critical role in ensuring accurate quoting, clear communication, and timely billing.The ideal candidate has prior experience as a service writer or service advisor in an automotive, heavy truck, diesel, or equipment repair environment and is comfortable working with technical information while delivering excellent customer service.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the main contact for customers via phone and email regarding service and repair workReceive repair requests, gather necessary information, and create job estimates and quotesCoordinate closely with the Service Foreman and technicians to understand repair scope, labor, and parts requirementsExplain repair recommendations, timelines, and pricing clearly and professionally to customersPrepare, review, and finalize work orders and invoices upon job completionHandle billing questions and resolve customer inquiries related to invoices and chargesMaintain accurate service records, customer communication logs, and documentationProvide ongoing updates to customers throughout the repair processSupport scheduling and workflow coordination as neededQualifications & ExperiencePrior experience as a Service Writer, Service Advisor, or similar role in an auto dealership, truck repair shop, fleet maintenance, or equipment repair environment preferredBasic technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate repair information (fire apparatus experience is a plus but not required)Strong customer service and communication skillsComfortable working with estimates, invoices, and billing documentationProficient with computer systems; experience with service or work order software preferredDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsAbility to work collaboratively with technicians and leadership

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
