Service Engineering Intern

Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Service Engineering team in Santa Barbara, California (ACT) is responsible for supporting existing and new Repair Lines. We are searching for an Intern pursuing a Mechanical or Biomechanical Engineering degree to support our Service Engineering team at ACT. The successful candidate will prepare, execute, and document repair line validations with guidance from the engineering staff. The individual will focus various improvement initiatives to increase throughput, performance and lower downtime and scrap. The necessary documentation of these tasks requires a detail-oriented work ethic. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner.

This internship will run from June 2026 – September 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Santa Barbara, CA facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Repair line validation for Trident Pump.
• Value Stream improvements for Console lines.
• Create Product Upgrade paths within WIs.

Education and Experience:

• Progress towards a college degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering field required. (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

• Technical Writing, Documentation, Continuous Improvement, and/or CAD modelling experince preferred

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

• PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
