We are seeking aSystemsIntegrationEngineer to support systems architecture, integration, sustainment, and lifecycle engineering for a mission-critical defense program inReston, Virgina.You willmanage data flows for a wide range of devices. Utilizing ApacheNiFiand Python tomaintainand engineer data flows to meet customer requirements. You will also build out Grafana dashboards to visualize data flow metrics and infrastructure status.Youwillbe responsible forinterfacing with various API endpoints as well asmaintainingholistic diagrams of each data flow.
The ideal candidate has experience applying structured systems engineering principles inDoD/DoWenvironments, understands cybersecurity integration, and can support system modernization and continuous improvement efforts.
HOW ASENIORSYSTEMS INTEGRATION ENGINEERWILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Employ ApacheNiFiand custom Python scripts to retrieve data from remote APIs,modifythe data, and then distribute it according to customer requirements.
Transform legacy Java implementations into holistic Python solutions,leveragingmodern libraries to achieve equivalent functionality.
Build Grafana dashboards to display data flow metrics and infrastructure status.
Engage in weekly engineering review board sessions, offering technical insights on change requests from both the internal team and clients.
Analyze current data flows for inefficiencies and propose optimized remedies.
Design secure cross-domain channels tofacilitatedata movement between networks of varying security levels.
Document new and existing data flows using Microsoft Visio.
Evaluate change request documentation for technical precision, sourced both internally and externally
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
TS/SCI with CI Poly
At least 8 years of relevant experience
Bachelor Degreein an area applicable to this position
Proficient inutilizingthe Linux command-line interface.
Proficiencyin a programming language, preferably Python.
Security + Certified;Must presently be 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2 preferred)
Familiarity with designing and sustaining data flows using ApacheNiFi.
General networking knowledge to include operation of routers, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, VPN and web proxies.
Working knowledge in the design andutilizationof RESTful APIs.
Proficiencyin managing andmaintainingboth Windows and Linux operating environments.
Familiarity with relational SQL databases, including Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
Possess foundational knowledge of Active Directory concepts, including Organizational Units (OUs) and Security Groups

The likely salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
