Senior Research And Development Engineer

Job Summary:

In this key leadership role the focus of your work will be powder development for structural PM steel applications, which is our highest priority. In addition, you will be expected to learn, support and develop other product families within the greater PM business.You’ll be expected to implement specific R & D activities that align with corporate strategic programs by prioritizing effective usage of technical resources and creative problem solving. Interface with customers, suppliers, marketing and manufacturing departments to introduce new products & processes and advance developments through pilot scale. Manage project needs in the areas of metal powder product development (alloy development, coating technology, new applications). Be an integral member of the R&D including personnel evaluations and decisions.

Job Description:

• Carry out specific assigned R & D projects by organizing, prioritizing, and facilitating the effective usage of both human and materials resources for the areas of powder product development (ferrous materials, specialized additives and coating technology, new applications).
• Plan, execute and interpret experiments to complete research deliverables. Interface with customers, suppliers, marketing, and manufacturing departments to realize program goals.
• Manage assigned work force, recognize personal strengths, and recommend potential improvements.
• Become the in-house expert/consultant to other departments in the areas of metal powder

Required Skills & Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science or related engineering discipline, Equivalent education or experience may be substituted for formal education.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience. preferably in particulate materials, metallurgy, powder process and product engineering.
• All candidates must be eligible to work in the USA; no sponsorship is available
• Up to 30% travel required, with a minimum of 10% expected
