Must Haves:

  • 5-8 years of project management experience in construction: Transmission, substation, distribution, or EPC environments
  • Proven ability to oversee large, complex projects from planning through execution. (At least $10-$20 million projects)
  • Supervises other Project Managers and provides mentorship to junior staff.
  • Contributes to process improvements and supports PMO‑level strategic initiatives.
  • Holds required certifications such as PMP, CCM, PE, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related field; preferred, not required Demonstrated experience managing power construction projects.

Pluses:

  • Strong understanding of power construction specifications, proposals, and documentation used for time, cost, and labor estimating.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting civil, structural, and electrical plans and specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experienced in Primavera for project scheduling. Familiar with OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and other applicable safety and construction regulations.

Job Description:

The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and evaluating construction projects in accordance with scope, budget, and schedule requirements. This role involves managing projects, subcontractor coordination, procurement, and client relations, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee projects from proposal through initiation, execution, and closeout.
  • Manage daily construction activities with the Construction Manager, including budgeting, scheduling, progress tracking, and KPI‑driven decision-making.
  • Verify progress, support forecasting, and maintain complete project documentation.
  • Develop and implement project work plans, defining scope, objectives, and evaluation criteria.
  • Manage construction schedules using Primavera.
  • Monitor performance to ensure timely procurement of materials, equipment, and labor.
  • Lead weekly meetings to review manpower and equipment needs.
  • Manage contract execution, change orders, and subcontractor performance.
  • Document and analyze project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve conflicts and escalate issues when necessary.
