Position Summary:
Emerson Innovation Center in Pune is seeking an experienced and collaborative Senior Program / Senior Project Manager – New Product Development (NPD) to lead the end‑to‑end development and commercialization of innovative products for retail and commercial markets. This role partners closely with global, cross‑functional teams to translate ideas into successful product launches through disciplined execution, strong governance, and clear communication. Reporting to the Director of New Product Development, this position plays a key role in driving delivery excellence, managing risk, and enabling sustainable growth through innovation.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Lead new product development initiatives from concept through commercialization using a structured phase‑gate approach
- Drive cross‑functional accountability across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and other stakeholders
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, ensuring effective control of scope, schedule, cost, quality, change, and risk
- Coordinate global teams to achieve timely delivery of milestones that support successful product launches
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; escalate issues appropriately with clear, data‑based recommendations
- Maintain rigorous project documentation and lead project reviews, governance meetings, and executive updates
- Manage the NPD project funnel, including prioritization of active projects and visibility into organizational capacity and resources
- Act as a PMO leader by promoting standardized project management tools, methodologies, and best practices across teams
- Lead complex sustaining and strategic initiatives as required to support product lifecycle needs
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Partner effectively with global and cross‑regional teams in a diverse, multicultural environment

For This Role, You Will Need:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline
- Significant experience leading new product development or engineering‑driven projects in domains such as valves, solenoid valves, actuators, valve automation, or FRLs
- Strong understanding of New Product Development and Engineer‑to‑Order phase‑gate processes
- Proven success managing cross‑functional teams across mechanical design, analysis, and embedded systems
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, forging, stamping, and plastic molding
- Experience managing multiple complex, end‑to‑end technical projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with international standards and certifications such as CE, ATEX, UL, and CSA
- Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly principles
- Exposure to PLM systems and practices, including tools such as Windchill / PDMLink
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with experience using data to support decision‑making
- Proficiency with common productivity tools and advanced experience using Creo for engineering collaboration
- Ability to make informed decisions, resolve issues, and provide clear guidance to project teams and functional leaders
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
