We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, open-minded and talented Senior Product Line Manager to join Integrated Circuits Product Business Unit. This dynamic team develops high-speed analog & mixed-signal IC products for fast growing optical data communications applications and is ready to take on more challenges.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

As a Senior Product Line Manager you will have Product Management and Business Development responsibilities. You work closely with customers, sales, R&D teams, and other organizations within Coherent to identify and develop new business opportunities, product definitions and diversified revenue growth plans. You will also manage the product portfolio, develop roadmaps, manage product life cycles, track revenue, and create forecasts.

  • Develop and continuously improve an in-depth understanding of our target markets, identify the key customers, and establish customer relationships.
  • Provide market intelligence expertise, understand customer technical and commercial requirements, identify how to differentiate vs competition, and win the business.
  • Develop product roadmaps and revenue growth plans.
  • Work closely with sales and other business development teams to manage the opportunity pipeline, explore new opportunities, new markets, and applications.
  • Frequently engage with R&D teams to develop detailed, differentiating product definitions with clearly articulated value propositions.
  • Develop detailed business cases with market estimates, competitive analysis, product positioning, demand forecasts and ROI analysis.
  • Develop training collateral for sales and FAE’s, articles and white papers.
  • Screens potential business opportunities by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials.
  • Manage the portfolio. Product lifecycle management, revenue analysis, tracking and forecasting.

Education & Experience

  • 10 years of Product Marketing or Business Development experience in a global setting.
  • In-depth understanding of the optical communications market (optical components, optical networking) and semiconductors servicing these markets.
  • Minimum B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering. MBA degree a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive product line strategy 
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills 

Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial instruments:  P&L, balance sheet, income statement
  • In depth understanding of the value proposition in existing and new market segments
  • Development of product roadmaps
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement
  • Ability to easily and successfully work with employees and customers in a multi-cultural, global team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and complex issues involving external and internal priorities
  • Experience with problem analysis and resolution at the strategic and functional levels
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Set a high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership, and competency

Working Conditions

  • This role will be based on-site in Santa Clara, CA. 
  • Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.
  • Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
  • Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
