Senior Product Designer

Who We Are

HiJenny is the AI assistant homeowners have always needed. We help people manage everything about their home, from keeping track of what they own to scheduling and managing services to navigating renovations without the fear, chaos, and budget surprises that have plagued the industry for decades.

Your home is likely your biggest asset, yet most homeowners have no real system for managing it. HiJenny changes that. She maintains your home inventory, coordinates services, connects you with vetted contractors, and keeps every project, big or small, on track and on budget. She works for you, not the contractor, not the platform.

Led by repeat founders and backed by top investors including HF0 Residency, HiJenny is building the home operating system that every homeowner deserves.

About the Role

HiJenny is looking for a Senior Product Designer who is deeply passionate about consumer experiences and excels in crafting intuitive, elegant products that people love. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of design craft and product thinking. You'll shape the end-to-end experience of the platform across web and mobile, working closely with a US-based product team and EU engineering teams.

You'll be a key voice in how homeowners understand, manage, and get the most out of their most important asset. That means designing experiences across three interconnected pillars: helping people build and maintain a living inventory of their home, seamlessly scheduling and tracking services, and managing projects from first quote to final walkthrough, with full visibility into cost, timeline, and progress.

You'll bring clarity to complexity, making something that touches permits, invoices, contractors, appliances, and maintenance schedules feel like second nature to everyday consumers. This is a rare opportunity to work on a product with genuine emotional stakes at its core: people's homes, their savings, and their peace of mind.

What You'll Do

Product Design Leadership: Own the design vision and execution for the full homeowner experience across three core pillars: home inventory, services, and projects, ensuring each feels cohesive, intuitive, and distinctly HiJenny across web and native mobile (iOS/Android).

Consumer-Centered Design: Deeply understand homeowner needs through continuous research, usability testing, and behavioral analysis. Whether a homeowner is cataloging their appliances, scheduling a recurring service, or managing a full kitchen renovation, you translate complexity into experiences that feel simple, trustworthy, and genuinely useful.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner daily with the US product team and EU engineering teams to ship high-quality features on schedule. Bridge time zones confidently; you communicate clearly across Figma, Slack, and video calls without losing fidelity.

Design Systems & Craft: Build and maintain a scalable design system that works across mobile-first and responsive web contexts. Ensure visual and interaction consistency as the product expands across inventory, services, and project management surfaces.

Research & Insights: Lead user research initiatives, interviews, prototype testing, and in-app behavioral analysis to generate insights that sharpen each pillar of the product. You're as curious about why a homeowner forgets to log a service as you are about why they abandon a contractor bid.

Metrics & Iteration: Define and track experience quality metrics (task completion, drop-off, CSAT, retention) across each product surface. Use data to iterate relentlessly on what's shipped and inform what's next.

Stakeholder Communication: Present design decisions and rationale clearly to founders, product, and engineering. Advocate for the homeowner when business pressure is high and trade-offs need to be made.

What You've Done
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field
  • 8+ years of product design experience, with at least 3+ years focused on B2C consumer products
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design work across web and mobile (please include in your application)
  • Experience shipping on both iOS/Android and responsive web. You understand platform conventions and know when to break them
  • Comfort working with distributed, cross-timezone teams, specifically with European engineering counterparts
  • Proficiency in Figma and modern prototyping tools; experience with design systems at scale
  • Strong user research skills: you know how to ask the right questions and synthesize findings into design direction
  • Data literacy: comfortable reading analytics dashboards and connecting design decisions to outcomes
  • Experience in marketplace, home services, fintech, or other trust-critical consumer categories is a strong plus

About You
  • You care deeply about the people using your product, not just the pixels
  • You are equally comfortable presenting to founders as you are pairing with an engineer in a Figma handoff
  • You bring strong opinions, loosely held. You can defend your choices and change your mind gracefully
  • You thrive in ambiguity and can move fast without sacrificing craft
  • You're energized by working on something that has real emotional stakes for real people
  • If based in the Bay Area, you're excited to be in-person with the team regularly; if remote, you're a strong async communicator who keeps collaboration tight across time zones
