Senior Practice Development Specialist
Overview
As a Senior Practice Development Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping and executing strategic marketing and business development initiatives that help attorneys grow their practices and deepen client relationships. Partnering closely with senior practice development leadership, attorneys, and practice group leaders, you will lead a wide range of initiatives designed to elevate practice visibility, strengthen market positioning, and support client growth across assigned practice areas.
This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced professional services environment, brings strong writing and project management skills, and enjoys working directly with senior professionals to create impactful business development strategies.
What You Will Do
- Business Development & Strategic Support Partner with attorneys to identify and pursue new business opportunities through targeted outreach strategies and individualized client development plans.
- Support the development and execution of annual business plans, including tracking initiatives, measuring outcomes, and reporting progress.
- Stay informed on industry, client, and market trends related to assigned practice areas to help uncover growth opportunities.
- Conduct research on prospective clients, industries, and competitors to provide actionable insights and competitive intelligence.
- Pitches, Proposals & RFPs Draft, coordinate, and finalize customized pitch materials, proposals, and RFP responses in collaboration with attorneys and internal stakeholders.
- Manage proposal timelines and workflows, coordinate attorney teams, and track submissions and results.
- Maintain and update practice experience databases, attorney biographies, and representative matter descriptions.
- Directories, Awards & Rankings Manage submissions to legal industry directories and rankings (such as Chambers and Legal 500), including drafting submissions and coordinating references.
- Maximize the impact of rankings and recognitions by incorporating them into marketing and business development materials.
- Support efforts to identify speaking opportunities, sponsorships, and conference participation that elevate practice visibility.
- Content Development & Marketing Collateral Draft and coordinate publication of client alerts, newsletters, blog posts, thought leadership articles, and other client-facing content.
- Develop and assemble practice group marketing materials and tailored collateral to support business development efforts.
- Collaborate with marketing communications colleagues on digital marketing and social media initiatives.
- Events & Sponsorships Coordinate client-facing and internal events such as seminars, webinars, receptions, and conferences from concept through post-event follow-up.
- Manage logistics for sponsorships and attorney speaking engagements.
- Develop invitations, presentation materials, and post-event communications to maximize engagement and impact.

- Qualifications5–7 years of experience in marketing or business development within a professional services environment; law firm experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred).
- Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with WordPress and content management platforms preferred.
