Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE) – Commercial & Institutional Projects

We're seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE) to lead the design and delivery of complex building systems across a diverse portfolio of commercial and institutional projects.
This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys both technical leadership and client engagement, and wants to play a key role in shaping projects from early design through construction.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems (HVAC and related) for commercial and institutional facilities.
- Perform engineering analysis, system sizing, and layout development with a focus on efficiency, constructability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee multi-phase project delivery, from schematic design through construction documentation and administration.
- Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders across disciplines.
- Review and contribute to BIM models and drawing production throughout all phases.
- Support construction phase activities including submittals, RFIs, site visits, and punch lists.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
- Participate in client meetings and support proposal development and presentations.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design within a consulting engineering environment.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience leading projects and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, codes, and industry standards.
- Experience across sectors such as aviation, healthcare, higher education, commercial, or institutional projects is a plus.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP and familiarity with engineering design tools.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
