Position Title: Senior Power Generation Engineer (Can be from any engineering discipline)

Openings: Multiple

Location: St Louis, MO 63110

Pay Range: $70/hr to 100/hr then converting at $160,000 - $210,000

Duration: 6 month Contract to Hire (If an offer is presented then then intention is to convert)

Interview Process: first round teams, second in person


MUST HAVES:

  • 8+ years of heavy technical experience in power generation
  • Minimum 6 years spent with thermal power generation (natural gas, coal, oil, nuclear, etc.)
  • 2+ years of recent leadership or people-management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred, Electrical acceptable)
  • Previous Consulting experience

Plus Qualifications

  • PE license highly preferred
  • Previous Consulting experience
  • PMP certification
  • Prior consulting or owner’s engineering experience
  • Other power experience across power delivery and T&D
  • Existing relationships with Midwest power utilities
  • Experience with data center power infrastructure

Day-to-day:

Insight Global is seeking a Power Market Sector Leader for a top power and energy consulting client. This leader will be responsible for growing and managing a regional power portfolio, driving client development, and expanding market presence across Missouri and Kansas. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in power generation, a strong leadership background, and an owner’s mindset to capitalize on the significant data center and utility growth occurring in the region. This role offers high visibility, strategic influence, and the opportunity to build out a long-term power footprint in a rapidly expanding market. Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and grow clients Power market presence in the Missouri/Kansas region
  • Drive business development, client expansion, and market diversification
  • Serve as Principal-in-Charge on select power projects
  • Oversee execution quality, staffing plans, and operational performance
  • Partner with regional and national leadership on growth strategy
  • Support power generation, transmission, and energy infrastructure initiatives, including data center-related power work
