Job Description:
A leading global healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of next-generation sequencing systems. This role focuses on building highly integrated, end-to-end instrumentation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical subsystems including electro-mechanical, pneumatic, thermal, and fluidic components
- Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, materials, and systems teams
- Develop mechanisms for automated loading, clamping, and sealing
- Design and implement thermal control systems
- Support system integration, testing, and troubleshooting
- Create detailed CAD models, drawings, and documentation
- Drive design reviews and technical decision-making
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field with relevant industry experience
- Hands-on experience with complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems
- Experience with thermal systems and fluidics
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD tools
- Experience with prototyping and testing
- Familiarity with Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools
Preferred:
- Experience with life science or diagnostic instrumentation
- Exposure to NGS or genomics systems
- Experience in regulated environments (FDA, GMP)
- Simulation tools (CFD, FEA)
