What We Are Looking For:

We’re seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong seller‑doer mindset and deep expertise in healthcare facility design. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of technical leadership, client development, and trusted advisor relationships within the healthcare market. This role is ideal for a healthcare SME who not only delivers complex projects, but also actively contributes to business growth through existing client relationships, strategic pursuits, and market presence.

What You Will Do:

Technical Leadership & Project Delivery

  • Serve as a Healthcare Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Designer of Record (DOR) for complex healthcare projects
  • Lead mechanical system design for hospitals, medical centers, and outpatient facilities in compliance with ASHRAE 170, FGI, NFPA 99, and applicable codes
  • Oversee project execution, ensuring high technical quality, constructability, and operational performance

Seller‑Doer & Business Development Responsibilities

  • Leverage existing healthcare client relationships to support repeat work and long‑term partnerships
  • Actively participate in business development efforts, including client meetings, pursuits, and proposal development
  • Collaborate with Market and Practice Leaders to identify new opportunities, expand client accounts, and grow healthcare revenue
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor during pursuits—helping shape project strategy, scope, fees, and staffing plans
  • Present technical approaches and solutions confidently to clients, hospital leadership, and clinical stakeholders

Team Leadership

  • Mentor and develop engineers and designers, strengthening healthcare technical depth across the team
  • Support internal training on healthcare codes, best practices, and system design strategies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of healthcare standards, tools, and processes

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (Mechanical focus)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 10+ years of mechanical building systems experience, including 5+ years in healthcare facilities
  • Demonstrated seller‑doer capability, including client development, proposal support, and relationship management
  • Existing or previous relationships with healthcare clients (health systems, hospitals, medical centers, or public agencies)
  • Strong expertise in healthcare HVAC systems, infection control design, and redundancy requirements
  • Proven experience with ASHRAE 170, FGI Guidelines, NFPA 99, IMC, IBC, and IPC
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence clients and multidisciplinary 

Compensation

The approximate compensation range for this position $100,000.00 - 180,000.00 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.

    The salary range for this position is $100,000- $180,000. The actual salary offered will be dependent on the preferred candidate’s experience, expertise, and physical location.
