Position Summary
The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for leading large-scale, multi-client logistics operations within a third-party logistics (3PL) environment. This role provides strategic direction, operational oversight, and leadership across multiple departments or sites, ensuring excellence in service delivery, financial performance, and continuous improvement. The Senior Operations Manager partners with senior leadership and key customers to drive growth, optimize performance, and maintain long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities -
Lead end-to-end operations across multiple functions, departments, or facilities within a 3PL environment

Provide strategic direction to Operations Managers, Supervisors, and cross-functional teams

Ensure achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) including service levels, productivity, quality, cost, and safety

Oversee multi-client relationships, acting as a primary escalation point and strategic partner for key accounts

Drive operational excellence through data analysis, process optimization, and implementation of best practices

Develop and execute long-term operational strategies aligned with company and customer goals

Manage full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial performance

Lead workforce planning strategies, including labor modeling, staffing optimization, and succession planning

Champion a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across all operations

Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and innovative logistics solutions

Collaborate with senior leadership, transportation, engineering, HR, and customer teams to support business objectives

Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex operational challenges and escalations

Support business development efforts, including new client onboarding, expansions, and solution design
Qualifications -
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred

8–12+ years of experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations, with significant experience in a 3PL environment

5–7+ years of leadership experience managing managers and large teams

Proven track record of managing multi-site or multi-client operations

Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L and driving cost efficiencies

Advanced knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and distribution systems

Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), labor management systems, and data analytics tools

Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, influence stakeholders, and drive organizational change

Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications -
Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certifications

Experience implementing automation, robotics, or advanced warehouse technologies

Strong background in customer-facing roles within a 3PL environment

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Physical Requirements -
Ability to travel between facilities as needed

Ability to stand and walk warehouse floors for extended periods

Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs

About the Role How you will contribute
- Manage the daily activities of a logistics operation to maximize scheduling and delivery of commodities to the customer.
- Interface with customer to ensure smooth -coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence; provides input on local conditions, identifies needs and receives direction on real-time staffing increases or decreases.
- Enact contingency plans as needed; escalate and direct activities during system problems, disasters, etc.; identify potential problems, troubleshoot, escalate issues to local and senior management, and participate in post-mortem analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements.
- Review ongoing performance results to targets. Take corrective measures with authorization, escalate as needed
- Responsible for providing effective leadership to the Warehouse Managers and/or team, enforcing company standards, act as a role model.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Progressive experience performing professional level operational and plant management duties; preferably in automotive or logistics industry.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write documents using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management and customer.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
