Consilio’s Direct Hire Division is seeking a Litigation Paralegal Specialist or Senior Paralegal Specialist for our client, a global AmLaw firm.
This is a direct‑hire, full‑time role based in New York City with a hybrid schedule (3 days/week in office).
Role Summary
This position provides high‑level litigation support across all stages of complex matters, including trial. The ideal candidate brings deep litigation experience, strong judgment, and the ability to work closely with attorneys while guiding junior paralegals and project assistants.
Key Responsibilities
Litigation Support
- Conduct legal research; draft correspondence; perform cite‑checking and Bluebooking.
- Use litigation review platforms, case management systems, and e‑discovery tools.
- Manage case documents, including organization, relevance review, privilege identification, and production preparation.
- Prepare and file pleadings in federal and state courts and with government agencies.
- Lead trial preparation: witness files, deposition summaries, exhibit management, scheduling, coordination with court staff, and trial‑space setup.
- Anticipate attorney needs and exercise sound judgment in a fast‑moving environment.
- Supervise and mentor junior paralegals and project assistants.
General Case Support
- Draft and prepare legal documents and communications for supervising attorneys.
- Summarize facts, legal concepts, and case developments.
- Attend client meetings, internal meetings, and legal proceedings.
- Provide project management support across assigned matters.
- Maintain an active notary license.
Administrative Expectations
- Maintain accurate time records and meet all time entry deadlines.
- Bill a minimum of 1,536 creditable hours annually (including 1,416 client‑billable hours).
- Limit pro bono and firm representation hours to 120 hours per year.
- Work a consistent schedule with flexibility during peak periods.
- Communicate availability and schedule changes to supervising attorneys and the Paralegal Manager.
- Request new assignments proactively.
- Adhere to the NFPA Model Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility.
- Participate in ongoing legal education.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Trial experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state rules.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Paralegal Specialist:
- Bachelor’s Degree or ABA‑approved Paralegal Certificate
- 13+ years of relevant experience
- Salary Range:$101,200 – $151,800
Senior Paralegal Specialist:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or 18+ years of experience in lieu of degree)
- 18+ years of relevant experience
- Salary Range: $116,380 – $174,000
