Our recruiting firm is partnering with a premier, global leader in industrial manufacturing and energy services to hire a Senior Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced HSE professional who thrives in complex industrial environments and is passionate about driving a proactive, accountable safety culture.

The Senior HSE Specialist is a critical site-level leader responsible for advancing health, safety, and environmental excellence while ensuring full regulatory compliance. This role partners closely with site leadership and operations teams to deliver both immediate and long-term HSE objectives, fostering a culture where safety is embedded in every decision and action.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, roll out, and continuously strengthen site-level health, safety, and environmental programs to minimize risk and support safe operations
- Establish and oversee contractor safety processes, including vetting, onboarding, field oversight, and performance reviews
- Evaluate site conditions through inspections, audits, and assessments, ensuring regulatory requirements are consistently met and gaps are addressed
- Act as a trusted advisor to site and operations leaders, providing expert guidance on HSE matters and practical risk-reduction strategies
- Lead incident and near-miss reviews, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence
- Track, analyze, and report safety and environmental performance indicators to drive data-informed decision-making
- Oversee environmental, chemical, and permitting obligations, ensuring accurate reporting and regulatory readiness
- Serve as the primary interface with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders on HSE-related topics
- Influence leadership behaviors through coaching, collaboration, and accountability to strengthen safety ownership at all levels
- Partner with operations to identify critical safety equipment and align preventive maintenance strategies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline preferred (equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of formal education)
- 8+ years of extensive HSE experience, with a strong background in oil & gas, energy, or heavy industrial environments
- Demonstrated success managing regulatory compliance, audits, and corrective action programs
- Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations
- Experience investigating incidents and applying root-cause analysis methodologies
- Proficiency with standard business software (Microsoft Office); familiarity with HSE management systems is a plus
- Highly organized, self-directed professional with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to influence and engage leaders and frontline teams
