Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

Compensation: $170,000–$230,000 + Above-Market Equity

AI-Native Customer Intelligence Platform Series A

Santa Barbara, CA — On-site

About the Role:

There's a massive, largely unsolved problem sitting at the center of every enterprise company: they're drowning in customer feedback and barely scratching the surface of what it's telling them. This Series A company is building the AI infrastructure to fix that — turning unstructured feedback into structured, actionable intelligence for some of the world's most recognizable brands.

With $12M raised and a 30+ person team punching well above their weight, this is a company that's both early enough to matter and proven enough to trust. Their customers are household names, and they keep expanding because the product genuinely delivers. Now they're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who wants to own major pieces of that product, not just maintain them.

This is a true end-to-end IC role. You'll talk to customers, write the code, ship the feature, and watch it land in production, all in the same sprint. If the idea of influencing both the technical direction and the product roadmap of a company in its most critical growth stage excites you, this seat was built for you.

What You'll Do

  • Own and deliver major customer-facing product areas end-to-end — from scoping to shipping to iterating based on real usage
  • Build across the full TypeScript stack: Node.js + GraphQL on the backend, React on the frontend
  • Collaborate directly with the NLP/AI team to bring intelligent, AI-powered features to life in the product interface
  • Talk to enterprise customers, understand their needs at a deep level, and translate that understanding into elegant software solutions
  • Design intuitive user experiences that make complex AI-driven insights feel simple and actionable
  • Help define technical architecture decisions as an early senior hire with a direct line to the founding team

Why This Seat

  • Genuine ownership — this is not a ticket-taking role. You'll influence what gets built and how
  • $12M raised, Series A momentum, and enterprise customers that validate the product every day
  • 20-person team where your work is visible, your voice is heard, and your contributions directly shape the trajectory of the company
  • Above-market equity — calibrated to the candidate, but serious
  • Work alongside an exceptionally sharp, hardworking team in Santa Barbara — a place worth relocating for
  • Top-of-market base: $170K–$230K depending on experience

You'll Thrive Here If You

  • Have 5–10 years of professional software development experience, including meaningful time working across both frontend and backend systems
  • Have owned and shipped major customer-facing features end-to-end — not just contributed to them
  • Are proficient in TypeScript and comfortable with GraphQL and React, even if you haven't used them in every role
  • Have experience at a startup and can point to tangible outcomes you drove there
  • Genuinely love talking to customers — you view it as signal, not overhead
  • Hold a CS degree (or equivalent) from a strong program or can demonstrate equivalent achievement
  • Are energized by the pace, ambiguity, and ownership of an early-stage company — not just tolerant of it

Nice-to-Haves

  • Prior experience with NLP, LLM integrations, or AI-powered product features
  • Experience working with enterprise B2B clients with complex feedback loops or high-stakes requirements
  • Comfort contributing to system design and architecture discussions as a technical peer to founders

What We Offer

  • $170,000–$230,000 base salary
  • Above-market equity (calibrated to experience and impact)
  • Full-time, in-person role in Santa Barbara, CA
  • Direct influence over product and technical direction at a pivotal growth stage

Must-Haves (Logistics)

  • Based in or willing to relocate to Santa Barbara, CA — fully on-site
  • Work authorization — visa sponsorship not available
  • CS degree or equivalent from a strong program
  • 5+ years of full stack experience with meaningful frontend and backend depth
  • Startup experience with demonstrable, tangible impact
  • This is a pure IC role — candidates seeking people management paths are not a fit
