Senior FP&A Analyst

About the Role
NextPlay Jobs is partnering with a client in Oak Park to find a Senior FP&A Analyst to join their team during a period of transformation and growth.
This role will play a key part in strengthening financial reporting, forecasting, and analytical capabilities, while partnering closely with executive leadership to support data-driven decision-making across the business.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys digging into the numbers, understanding the story behind them, and turning insights into action.
What You’ll Do
- Perform detailed financial analysis at the departmental and general ledger level
- Own variance analysis and clearly communicate drivers, trends, and root causes
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for a complex service-based organization
- Analyze high-volume invoicing activity, including service contracts, credit memos, and project billing
- Own inventory analysis, ensuring accuracy and accountability
- Partner closely with accounting to ensure operational activity is accurately reflected in financial results
- Build, maintain, and enhance Excel-based models, reports, and dashboards for leadership
What We’re Looking For
- Strong background in FP&A or analytical finance
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to independently investigate and explain variances
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis, modeling)
- Ability to clearly communicate insights and influence decision-making
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, evolving environment, including periods of system or process change
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience
