Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making through financial planning, analysis, and reporting. This position will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights that drive profitability and operational efficiency. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial data effectively. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Assist in developing and executing annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Variance Analysis: Perform actual vs. forecast/budget analysis and explain key drivers.
  • Financial Modeling: Build models to support strategic initiatives, pricing strategies, and market expansions.
  • Business Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs such as gross margin, inventory turnover, and sales performance.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with merchandising, operations, and marketing to align financial goals.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows and implement best practices.

Required Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of progressive financial analysis experience, preferably in apparel, fashion retail, or consumer goods.
  • Strong knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, advanced formulas) and experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Understanding of inventory management, seasonal planning, and retail metrics.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Experience with apparel industry financial cycles (e.g., seasonal drops, markdown planning).
  • Familiarity with wholesale, DTC, and e-commerce financial structures.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and COGS dynamics specific to fashion/apparel.
  • Exposure to pricing and cost negotiations with vendors and partners.
  • Experience automating reporting processes using BI tools.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
  • Advanced degree (MBA) or professional certification (CPA) preferred.
  • Continuing education in financial analysis or data analytics is a plus.
