Description
We are seeking an Enterprise Architect to provide architecture leadership across a complex enterprise IT environment undergoing modernization, governance maturation, and cross-system coordination. This role operates in a large, regulated setting where technical decisions must align with mission priorities, enterprise standards, and long-term operational objectives.
This architect will guide architectural alignment across initiatives, assess solution options, and help connect strategy, governance, and execution. The role is intended for someone who can operate above the project level, work across business and technical teams, and bring structure to architecture decisions in a multi-stakeholder environment.
Job Location
Hybrid, with periodic onsite support as needed in Baltimore, Maryland.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Lead enterprise architecture support across strategic initiatives, modernization efforts, and governance activities
• Assess current-state and target-state architectures to improve alignment, standardization, and technical coherence
• Support analysis of alternatives, solution evaluations, and architectural recommendations for enterprise decision-making
• Advise program and product teams on architecture standards, integration patterns, and technical tradeoffs
• Coordinate with business stakeholders, program managers, engineers, and governance teams to align architecture with organizational goals
• Contribute to roadmaps, technical assessments, white papers, and architecture-related planning materials
• Support architecture input to governance boards, investment discussions, and portfolio prioritization activities
• Promote compliance with enterprise standards, interoperability requirements, and sound system design principles
What You Must Have
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience working with enterprise-level infrastructure, applications, or platforms in a large organizational environment
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or technical architecture roles
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field
• TOGAF certification
• ITIL Foundation, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent certification
• 6+ years of experience conducting architecture assessments, technical evaluations, or analysis of alternatives
• 6+ years of experience supporting systems integration, interoperability planning, or cross-platform architecture
• 6+ years of experience producing architecture artifacts such as roadmaps, standards, diagrams, decision papers, or technical recommendations
• 6+ years of experience supporting governance processes, architecture review boards, or enterprise decision forums
• 6+ years of experience working in a federal environment or similarly regulated enterprise setting
• 6+ years of experience supporting identity, access, security, or standards-alignment considerations in enterprise architecture
• 4+ years of experience supporting portfolio modernization, shared services, or enterprise platform initiatives
• 4+ years of experience supporting architecture decisions involving cloud, mainframe, distributed, or hybrid environments

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$144,381.00 - $245,448.00Maryland Client Office (MD88)
