Senior Electrical Project Manager — Transmission & Substation

📍 Tacoma, WA (Travel to project sites required)


A well-established power and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Manager to lead transmission, substation, and distribution projects.

This role is ideal for someone with strong high-voltage power experience who has successfully managed complex projects, subcontractors, and prime contracts — particularly in federal or government environments.


The Role:

You will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of electrical infrastructure projects, including planning, execution, subcontractor oversight, and project closeout.

Projects include:

  • High-voltage transmission line construction
  • Substation construction and upgrades
  • Distribution and pole replacement/makeready work
  • Utility and government infrastructure projects

This role requires strong leadership, financial management, and contract administration experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage prime contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders
  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, procurement, and execution
  • Lead subcontractor coordination and field operations
  • Track budgets, forecasting, and cost reporting
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Conduct regular client and project stakeholder meetings
  • Manage change orders and contract modifications
  • Provide project performance reporting and financial updates
  • Mentor junior staff and support team development


What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in power infrastructure
  • Strong background in:
  • Transmission lines
  • Substations
  • Distribution systems
  • Pole replacement or makeready work
  • Experience working for an electrical contractor or EPC firm (not utility-side preferred)
  • Experience managing subcontractors and prime contracts
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in T&D construction
  • Experience with estimating, scheduling, and budgeting
  • Federal or government project experience strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
