About the Role

A San Francisco-based company is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our integrated project team focused on designing some of the most energy‐efficient and sustainable buildings in the country. In this role, you will lead the design and optimization of high‐performance electrical systems while collaborating closely with architects, engineers, owners, and other consultants. You’ll work on innovative projects across commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial sectors, helping advance our mission to decarbonize the built environment and support a zero‐carbon, all‐electric future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of electrical systems, service sizing, and power distribution for new construction and retrofit projects
  • Prepare design documentation including reports, calculations, single‐line diagrams, and specifications
  • Provide early‐stage consulting support during concept and schematic design, including utility coordination and service planning
  • Review and oversee electrical design documents to ensure accuracy, code compliance, and alignment with project goals
  • Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and other building systems to support holistic, sustainable design
  • Support projects through construction and commissioning to verify design intent and system performance
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, including presenting technical findings and proposals to both technical teams and executive audiences
  • Stay current with industry trends, codes, technologies, and best practices related to electrification, decarbonization, and high‐performance buildings
  • Contribute to business development efforts, client relationships, and thought leadership through technical papers, presentations, and outreach
  • Mentor junior engineers and support quality control and quality assurance efforts across projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree a plus)
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical system design for buildings
  • Proficiency with relevant design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD and energy or sustainability modeling tools)
  • Strong analytical, problem‐solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and Google productivity suites
  • Passion for sustainability, electrification, and decarbonization
