Job Title: Electrical Engineer III (SCADA / Power Systems)

Location: Jackson, MI (Hybrid – Mon, Tue, Thu onsite)

Employment Type: 12+ months contract ( High possibility of Extension)

Per Diem: $550/week available for non-local candidates willing to relocate


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III to support the development and engineering of power generation projects, including natural gas and renewable energy assets. This role will work closely with lead project engineers and EPC partners to support design, review, and implementation of control systems and power plant technologies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support engineering and development of power generation projects (natural gas, solar, wind, battery storage)
  • Develop, review, and validate technical specifications for:
  • SCADA systems
  • Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
  • Power Plant Control Systems (PCS)
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors to review designs and provide technical feedback
  • Analyze and review power plant control systems and data systems
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety, and operational requirements
  • Support system integration and commissioning activities
  • Provide technical expertise in SCADA and plant control systems
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Assist in resolving technical issues and improving system performance


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in:
  • Power generation or utilities industry
  • SCADA / DCS / Control Systems
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Power plant operations
  • Electrical systems and infrastructure
  • Experience reviewing and developing engineering specifications
  • Familiarity with working alongside EPC contractors


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with natural gas power plants or renewable energy projects
  • Knowledge of:
  • Power Plant Controllers (PCS)
  • Substation systems and power distribution
  • Experience with system integration and commissioning
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
