A well-established MEP consulting firm in Central New Jersey is looking to hire a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support continued growth and a strong pipeline of repeat client work.

This is a hands-on, senior-level role suited to an engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, working closely with architects and internal teams, and being involved from concept through construction. The position is primarily office-based to support collaboration, mentoring, and site activity.


Your new role

  • Designing electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm systems for a range of building types

Working on projects across:

  • Commercial
  • Institutional
  • Industrial
  • Multifamily residential
  • Producing construction documents and technical drawings using AutoCAD
  • Applying relevant electrical, life safety, and building codes
  • Coordinating with architects, clients, and other engineering disciplines
  • Carrying out site visits and field surveys as required
  • Supporting and mentoring junior engineers (with longer-term opportunities to step into a lead role)


What you’ll need to succeed

  • Experience in electrical building systems design
  • Strong background in electrical MEP and fire alarm design
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal supervision
  • Solid working knowledge of codes and standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and comfort producing your own drawings
