Pay Range: $45 - $50/hr W2(The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors)


Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in Unigraphics NX (UG NX) and product design. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end design activities, from concept development to production-ready outputs, with a focus on manufacturability and quality.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work as a Designer in New Product Development (NPD) projects
  • Generate design concepts based on input requirements
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models and production-level drawings using UG NX
  • Manage CAD files and documentation within PLM systems (e.g., Windchill)
  • Apply GD&T principles in production drawings
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and design verification
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external manufacturing partners for DFM/DFA
  • Identify root causes of design issues and implement corrective actions
  • Coordinate with offshore teams and onsite stakeholders
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams (Engineering, PMs, etc.)
  • Prepare and transfer work packages to offshore teams

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience in UG NX (9+/10 proficiency required)
  • Expertise in Product Design & Design Engineering (concept to production)
  • Experience in creating complex 3D CAD models
  • Ability to convert concepts/sketches into CAD designs
  • Strong knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) & DFA (Design for Assembly)
  • Proficiency in GD&T
  • Experience in creating production-ready drawings
  • Experience in tolerance stack-up and basic mechanical calculations
  • Familiarity with PLM systems (Windchill preferred)
  • Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional teams
  • Exposure to verification & validation processes

Domain Experience (Preferred)

  • Medical Devices industry
  • Orthopaedic product design

Soft Skills / Managerial Skills

  • Strong communication (written & verbal)
  • Good stakeholder management and coordination skills
  • Ability to work with offshore teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Experience in project or people management is a plus
  • Ability to mentor junior team members
