The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with foundry processes (no-bake and cold box), advanced modeling capabilities, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and shop floor teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop foundry tooling, including patterns and core boxes, using CAD software (Creo preferred)
  • Support RFQ processes for tooling and contribute to cost and timeline estimation
  • Analyze and resolve casting defects, including scrap reduction and re-gating strategies
  • Perform casting simulations (SolidCast preferred) to optimize tooling and process flow
  • Collaborate with engineers, tool designers, pattern makers, and manufacturing teams to ensure effective tool builds
  • Interpret machining prints and apply geometric tolerancing principles to designs
  • Apply best practices for no-bake and cold box molding processes
  • Provide direction to suppliers and support tooling build projects
  • Continuously improve tooling quality, performance, and production efficiency
