Senior Credit Analyst

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to support commercial lending activities through detailed financial analysis, credit underwriting, and risk assessment. This individual will play a key role in evaluating complex credit opportunities, partnering closely with Relationship Managers, and contributing to sound credit decisions that align with the bank’s risk appetite and growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow to assess borrower creditworthiness
  • Underwrite commercial loans across C&I, CRE, and/or SBA portfolios
  • Prepare comprehensive credit memos and present recommendations to credit leadership or loan committees
  • Perform global cash flow analysis, debt service coverage, and sensitivity analysis
  • Partner with Relationship Managers to structure deals and identify potential risks and mitigants
  • Monitor existing loan portfolios, including annual reviews, renewals, and covenant compliance
  • Identify trends or emerging risks within the portfolio and provide proactive recommendations
  • Mentor junior analysts and assist in training or review of credit work as needed
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and credit guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 3-5+ years of credit analysis experience within a commercial banking environment
  • Strong understanding of commercial lending (C&I, CRE, and/or SBA)
  • Advanced financial analysis and modeling skills
  • Experience writing and presenting detailed credit memos
  • Ability to assess complex transactions and structure credit facilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with middle-market or commercial clients
  • Prior exposure to loan committees or credit approval processes
  • Leadership or mentoring experience
  • Familiarity with risk rating systems and regulatory expectations
