**Starting Hiring Range: $15.27 - 22.14 Hourly**
This purpose of this position is to assist in the daily operation of the Senior Center including preparation and cleanup of meals, customer service, and maintenance activities.
- Provides a high-level of customer service for patrons by creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment and assisting guests in a kind, courteous manner.
- Assists with the kitchen preparation and cleanup of meal program service.
- Assists with setup and cleaning of rooms for various programs, activities, and events including: setting up and putting away tables and chairs, serving and cleaning up refreshments, preparing and putting away supplies, and taking out the trash.
- Maintains cleanliness and maintenance of facility and equipment.
- Occasionally assists with transportation program.
- Greets visitors and answers telephone.
- Assists in picking up supplies and donations.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED equivalent, is required. One (1) year of customer service experience required; experience working in senior programs is preferred.
- This position normally performs the duty assignment after receiving detailed instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results with little room for deviation.
- Knowledge of food safety/food handler procedures.
- Knowledge of basic building maintenance methods and techniques.
- Ability to regularly interact with others and exchange and receive of information, providing effective and tactful customer service, and work independently with discretion.
- Advanced ability to interact with people in a professional and congenial manner.
- Skill in using small hand held tools.
- Advanced ability to be organized and have efficient management of time and deadlines.
- Ability to read and communicate in a clear, effective, and concise manner, both orally and in writing using all parts of speech.
- Ability to deal with, interpret, and explain a real system of numbers, fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions, and measurements.
- Ability to follow instructions, safety practices, and perform work accurately and thoroughly which requires performing multiple tasks simultaneously under time pressures and deadlines.

Special RequirementsLicenses & CertificationsMust possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record as established by the City of Midlothian driving standards.
Food handler certificate, or ability to obtain within 3 months.
CPR certification is preferred.Work EnvironmentWorks primarily in a climate-controlled office environment. Physical demands are primarily sedentary frequently requiring prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking in indoor environments. Physical demands require occasional light work (up to 25 lbs.) and the ability to reach, climb stairs/ladders, bend/stoop, and occasionally push/pull objects up to 50 lbs. up to 15 yards. Work may cause light fatigue of eyes and fingers because of routine use of motor senses.
Ability to work flexible hours and holidays as needed.
