About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer Planner to join our manufacturing team. To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Play a pivotal role in managing the procurement of materials, components, vendor relationships, and flow of operations. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

·        Create purchase orders using Job Boss2 ERP system

o  Track and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any supply chain issues

o  Accounts payable

o  Support shipping department

·        Sales order entry

o  Understand blueprints

·        Process production orders

o  Provide drawings, pick tickets, outside service shipments, material requirement

·        Manage lead-times, safety stocks, MOQ, and system parameters

·        Backup support for the Controller

o  Knowledge of accounting basic

·        Adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a dynamic business environment

·        Demonstrate ability to take on new responsibilities and continuous improvement projects

·        Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and ISO documentations

·        Source, qualify, and negotiate with domestic raw materials, tooling, machine components, and MRO supplies

·        Maintain accurate inventory levels and monitor stock to prevent production chain issues

o  Inventory cycle counts and year-end physical inventories

·        Run weekly production report

o  Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Accounting teams to meet project requirements

o  Daily production walk

·        Effective communicator able to work cross-functional teams internally and externally

·        Analyze pricing, lead times, and total cost of ownership to drive cost savings

o  Computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Job Boss reports


Required Qualifications

·        Minimum 2+ years of purchasing/planning experience in a manufacturing environment

·        Solid understanding of supply chain, inventory management, and procurement best practices

·        Proven negotiation and vendor management skills

·        Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities

·        High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s and/or experience in supply chain

Preferred Qualifications

·        Experience in machining, metal fabrication, sub-contract work, machine build, and machine tool parts

·        Familiarity with ISO quality systems
