About the Role
A leading enterprise organization in the financial services sector is seeking a Sr. Business Systems Analyst to support cross-functional product and technology teams. In this role, you will discover, synthesize, and analyze information from a variety of internal and external sources—including systems, processes, documentation, tools, and stakeholders—to enable effective decision-making and delivery.
The ideal candidate is a proven change agent who can break down complex problems into logical, actionable solutions that provide measurable value. You will collaborate closely with business partners, product owners, engineers, and design teams, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business and technology teams to define and deliver solutions that meet organizational objectives
- Analyze current-state systems and processes and define future-state requirements
- Identify scope gaps, missing requirements, and cross-product dependencies; support planning for resolution
- Elicit, analyze, and document business and stakeholder requirements
- Perform requirements analysis, story decomposition, system integration analysis, and data flow design
- Create high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria; collaborate with Scrum teams to refine and manage backlogs
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and reviews
- Advise Product Owners on prioritization, next steps, and readiness for approvals
- Provide ongoing requirements and design support to development teams
- Collaborate with UI/UX teams to define and validate user interface requirements
- Support test planning and test case development; participate in test result validation
- Facilitate cross-team collaboration and define acceptance criteria for integrated solutions
- Apply business analysis best practices for epics, features, and user stories
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise-wide standards, policies, and documentation
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of experience in business systems analysis, software development, or a related role
- Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience with requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation
- Experience using Jira and Confluence
- Experience with process modeling tools (e.g., Visio or equivalent)
- Ability to work effectively with distributed and geographically dispersed teams
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills
- Self-directed and comfortable working with minimal supervision while learning new concepts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting regulated or financial market infrastructure environments
- Familiarity with event-driven systems, streaming platforms, and batch analytics
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
- Working knowledge of data management, analytics, and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Business Objects, Figma)
- Exposure to advanced analytics or data science tools (e.g., Python, R)
- Understanding of infrastructure fundamentals, including networking, storage, and provisioning
- MBA or MS degree
- Professional certifications such as CCBA, CBAP, AAC, or equivalent
Salary: ~$120k + bonus
