A well-established and expanding top-tier law firm is seeking a Senior Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Attorney with over 6 years of experience to join its Illinois practice. This Bankruptcy Attorney role offers the opportunity to represent creditors, financial institutions, and committees in sophisticated insolvency and restructuring matters.
This position is ideal for a seasoned attorney who excels in bankruptcy litigation and strategic advisory work. The firm is known for its comprehensive legal services and strong presence across multiple jurisdictions, providing an excellent platform for long-term growth in Illinois legal jobs.

Key Responsibilities
• Represent creditors, creditors’ committees, and financial institutions in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy proceedings.
• File and prosecute proofs of claim, motions for relief from stay, and objections to discharge or dischargeability.
• Advise clients on maximizing recoveries in reorganization and liquidation proceedings.
• Handle preference actions, fraudulent transfer litigation, and adversary proceedings.
• Represent financial institutions in enforcing debt obligations and security interests.
• Manage collection actions, judgment enforcement, and post-judgment remedies.
• Negotiate and document workout agreements and restructuring solutions.
• Handle UCC Article 9 foreclosures and secured creditor remedies.

Qualifications
• 6+ years of experience as a Bankruptcy Attorney or Creditors’ Rights Attorney.
• Active Illinois Bar membership required (IL Bar required).
• Proven ability to independently manage bankruptcy and litigation matters.
• Strong courtroom presence and experience in depositions and negotiations.
• Deep understanding of bankruptcy courts, secured creditors, and distressed borrowers.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
• Multi-state bar admission (e.g., Wisconsin) is a plus.

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing with the Illinois State Bar.
