Our fast-growing, boutique law firm client in mid-town Manhattan, specializing in Construction & Real Estate Litigation & Transactions, is hiring a Senior Attorney OR Partner, Construction Litigation, a newly-created position within its Commercial Construction Litigation group as a result of significant business growth and pipeline. The work will be performed on site 5 days/week at the firm's mid-town Manhattan office and/or in court, with flexibility to work remotely for inclement weather, personal reasons, etc. now and then.


This is a 'hands on' role preparing respective legal docs themselves, owning and closing litigation cases beginning to end with little assistance.


Base salary $300k to $400k, plus bonus, plus origination fees on new business brought in, plus 100% firm-paid medical coverage plus 401k!


It's a plus but NOT REQUIRED for candidates to bring a portable book of business with them.


For candidates asked to interview, the interview process will be very quick, meeting once w/ the partners at the same time, after which a hiring decision will be made within a day.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and perform all aspects of commercial construction litigation from beginning to end with little oversight
  • Draft pleadings, briefs, affidavits and other legal documents / filings (NOTE: the firm has Paralegals to assist, however this is a 'hands on' role drafting legal docs, owning & closing cases beginning to end without much assistance)
  • Appear in court
  • Oversee and help manage 3 Associate Attorneys
  • Perform legal research, discovery, analyze complex legal matters, prepare legal memoranda


Key Requirements:

  • ~7-14 TOTAL years of litigation experience, with 4+ years having owned diverse commercial construction litigation cases beginning to end; Section 881 experience a plus.
  • NY Bar
  • J.D.
  • Substantial experience appearing in NY courts, preferably including Supreme Court.
  • Must be a litigator, able to analyze and research complex legal matters, perform discovery, prepare appropriate legal documents, and handle client cases beginning to end
  • Significant Contract Law experience
  • Strong experience with client relations
  • Excellent research experience and ability
