Senior Accounting Manager

Fast growing SAAS organization targeting a Sr. Accounting Manager to join the dynamic team!

Role is remote but must reside in/near Orange County, Ca

Compensation $115k-140k + bonus + benefits

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close cycle, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany activity, cost allocations, and balance sheet and P&L accounts to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Supervise and develop 1–2 direct reports, fostering growth, accountability, and performance.
• Manage the year-end audit process, partnering with external auditors and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
• Oversee preparation and submission of local, state, and federal tax filings and related reporting.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records within NetSuite, including reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
• Review customer and vendor contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
• Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and support policy compliance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support strategic initiatives and identify opportunities for process optimization.
• Produce financial analyses and reporting packages, delivering actionable insights to senior leadership.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5–12 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within SaaS or subscription-based business models.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• CPA designation preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition and subscription billing concepts.
• Experience with systems such as Bill.com, Avalara, Expensify, and close automation platforms is a plus.
• Background managing multi-state sales and use tax, corporate estimated taxes, and property tax compliance.
• Proven track record of driving process improvements and increasing operational efficiency.
