Senior Accounting Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join a Fortune 1000 organization. This role will lead key accounting operations, oversee an accounting team, and partner cross-functionally to drive financial accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of three accounting professionals responsible for the corporate general ledger and accounts payable functions
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables
  • Manage and enhance accounts payable operations, including process optimization and internal controls
  • Partner with FP&A to prepare and deliver periodic forecasts, providing insights into variances and trends
  • Drive accounting process improvement initiatives, including automation and workflow enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and corporate accounting policies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, procurement, and operational teams to support business objectives
  • Serve as a key liaison for internal and external audits


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience managing general ledger and accounts payable functions
  • Hands-on experience with ERP and financial systems, preferably JD Edwards (JDE) and OneStream
  • Proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and manage competing priorities
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
