We are seeking a Senior Accountant to assist with standard month close procedures and client onboarding. Responsibilities:You will report to the Director of Accounting and work across multiple client engagements. Core responsibilities will vary, but will include all of the following: Month Close & Accounting Oversight:Review work completed by in-house or client bookkeepers and close 15-20 client books monthlyPrepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and relevant regulationsPerform and troubleshoot account reconciliations Assist in preparing complex invoices / grant vouchers and submit on WAWF, ASAP, VIPERS, Research.gov, and other portals as neededPerform variance analyses and discuss financial and operational insights with client teamsDevelop, implement, and maintain financial controls and accounting procedures with client executives Client Onboarding:Gather necessary documentation and client information, e.g. articles of incorporation, cap table data, fundraising and employee equity agreements, loan documents, etc.Assist in accounting cleanup and setup efforts for new clientsAssist operations team in accounting integrations such as payroll and AP platformsOther: Manage client communications and requests, Oversee client ad hoc reports (e.g. cashflow forecasts)Necessary Qualifications:3+ years accounting experience at a startup or public accounting firmDeep knowledge of Quickbooks Online and varying integrations (ramp, brex, gusto, rippling, avalara, etc.)Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsNice to Have Qualifications:4+ years accounting experience working in or with venture backed organizations that have federal grants or contractsProven track record of leading client engagements (e.g. strategic implications of financials results, leading rate negotiations, leading compliance efforts)Experience working across DoD, DoE, NSF, and NIH highly desirable Compensation & Benefits:$85,000, negotiable based on experience. 5% 401k at a 1-1 matchICHRA - $320 for individual, $520 for couple, $800 for family20 PTO days and 10 Holidays
