  • B.S. Degree in Accounting or related field of study
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience is preferred in the Ellucian Banner Student and Finance System.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work efficiently under the pressure of deadlines without immediate supervision.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills







  • Perform professional accounting work involving the recording, analysis and reporting of financial data in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and federal, state, university and NACUBO guidelines; ensure transactions are authentic, properly authorized, properly recorded and prepared promptly and accurately.
  • Assist the Controller in the preparation of the Annual Budget, Annual Financial Report, footnotes and other various required fiscal reports.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor University policy and procedures.
  • Communicate with and prepare information requested by Legislative and internal auditors, and other state agencies.
  • Review financial reports to assure accuracy and timeliness of posting revenues and receivables.
  • Prepare and maintain spreadsheets to analyze and project revenues and receivables.
  • Calculate and record the reserve for bad debt
  • Responsible for monitoring and the projecting of certain expenditures and revenue discounts, including scholarships and fee exemptions.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology to streamline, automate, and upgrade Banner/software processes as it relates to finance.
  • Understand and identify fraudulent activity
  • 1042S preparation and IRS reporting
  • Prepares and review various monthly account reconciliations, participate in the rotation of bank accounts reconciliations.
  • Research complex issues and transactions and respond to accounting inquiries
  • Assists department and administrators with questions relating to the accounting activity.
  • Conduct contract compliance review to ensure adherence to terms as it relates to revenue.
  • Serve as project lead for standard or systematic changes and as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support the Controller's Office.
