Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Accountant with a strong background in full cycle accounting to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will work closely wtih the Controller on a new acquired company and be able to have a team underneath you in the future. This role is ideal for someone who can come in and hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage general ledger activities and ensure accurate account reconciliations
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes
• Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or trends
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate external audits and support internal audit requests
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records
• Improve accounting procedures and internal controls
• Support tax preparation and reporting activities
• Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance as needed
• Other job responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Willing to travel 4-5 days month
