JPMC Candidate Experience page
New York, NY

J.P. Morgan’s ABS Originations team operates at the intersection of Corporate Finance and Markets — an active structured finance platform across the Americas. We analyze, structure, and execute innovative asset-backed financings for clients ranging from large financial institutions to emerging fintech lenders across the U.S. and Latin America.

We are hiring a Vice President to take on meaningful responsibility across the platform, including origination, structuring, and execution of transactions across asset classes and jurisdictions. The role also carries a particular focus on Latin America, where the franchise is growing and there is significant opportunity to help develop client relationships and expand the business.

The role would suit someone who enjoys building as well as executing — someone who is comfortable leading transactions, working across geographies, and contributing to the direction of a growing platform. You will work closely with senior leadership and have exposure to the full transaction lifecycle, from origination and structuring through diligence, documentation, execution, and ongoing portfolio management.

Job responsibilities

  • Originate, structure, price, and execute asset-backed securities transactions across diverse asset classes and jurisdictions, including loan portfolio purchases, forward-flow arrangements, private warehouses, and related structured financings.
  • Lead private ABS financings for Latin American clients across asset classes including auto, payroll finance, credit cards, unsecured consumer, and SME lending.
  • Support U.S. activities including real-estate financing (single-family and iBuyer strategies) and ABS Principal Finance across student loans, auto, unsecured consumer, SME, and other specialty finance asset classes.
  • Drive transactions end-to-end: pitch development, structuring, due diligence, documentation, execution, and post-close portfolio management.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, counterparties, coverage teams, rating agencies, and legal counsel.
  • Review, negotiate, and take accountability for transaction documentation and legal agreements.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Analyze opportunities using data tapes and performance histories; identify trends and build portfolio cash flow and ABS structure models.
  • Apply rating agency methodologies and quantitative analysis to assess risk, valuation, and execution strategy.
  • 5–8 years of securitization or structured finance experience, with demonstrated ability to lead transactions.
  • Proven ability to model, price, and structure ABS transactions independently.
  • Deep familiarity with rating agency methodologies for structured finance.
  • Strong quantitative skills: ability to analyze performance data, identify trends, and translate findings into risk and valuation assessments.
  • Ability to navigate cross-disciplinary deal considerations, including accounting, corporate finance, bank capital, tax, and legal frameworks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  •

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Professional fluency in Spanish, including the ability to engage directly with clients and review local-language materials and documentation in Spanish.
  • Python or similar programming skills for data analysis and workflow automation.
  • Strong sense of urgency with attention to detail and quality that enhances client service.
  • Strong teamwork skills and comfort working with a diverse set of clients and stakeholders.
