This position is responsible for supervising the day-to-day sanitation activities for food processing operations to comply with established regulations for food and process safety and sanitation and provide the highest level of customer satisfaction.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct and supervise employees in all aspects of industrial sanitation
  • Investigate sanitation issues, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor, modify and contribute to the design of sanitation and safety policies/procedures to ensure product safety and superior plant cleanliness
  • Ensure compliance, maintain currency with all applicable regulatory requirements, safety requirements and training requirements
  • Ensure that documented sanitation procedures are followed
  • Review and audit of cleaning activities for timely processing start-up.


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in a food-manufacturing environment with management or supervisory duties
  • Knowledge of food safety concepts and techniques as well as OSHA, MSDS, HACCP, and USDA policies and regulations
  • General knowledge of equipment used in food manufacturing facilities and cleaning practices for such equipment
  • Solid understanding of allergens, microbiological and mold issues
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to supervise and motivate employees in a team-based environment

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Position will frequent the production floor, so operating in standard seasonal warehouse and food processing plant temperature conditions will be required. Work is completed in a facility where nuts, fruits and other allergens are present.
