The Corporate Marketing team comprised of Sales Planning, Marketing, Advertising, and E-Commerce is responsible for all consumer‑facing marketing vehicles, including the weekly circular and all corporate themes communicated to customers. These themes include, but are not limited to, weekly ad and corporate events.
The Sales Planning Specialist is responsible for executing our sales strategies, managing promotional plan, elevating our weekly storytelling, coordinating marketing initiatives, and ensuring the successful execution of featured programs in the circular. As the circular remains our primary weekly communications vehicle, this role ensures its themes, messages, and offers are carried out consistently through the circular.
This position partners with Advertising, Marketing and Product Divisions to execute corporate events and promotions in print and bring them to life in stores through the circular. The goal is simple: tell one cohesive story to the customer before they shop and while they shop.
This role provides an opportunity to interact across the entire co‑op, supporting stores, advertising, product divisions, and the Marketing while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and supporting cross-functional teams in driving revenue growth across product divisional categories. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and adept at managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Core Functions / Minimum Requirements
- Responsible for owning the end-to-end process of communicating weekly promotional plans to the procurement teams, receiving and reviewing divisional ad submissions, laying out the front page which drives about $40M weekly, and presenting layouts to leadership
- Ensure that "Circular and Front-Page Guidelines" for ShopRite are executed by divisions for 10 million circulars that are distributed weekly
- Serve as the internal champion for connecting circular storytelling to in‑store execution, ensuring a coordinated and seamless customer experience
- Responsible for bringing multiple divisions together within the interior of the circular. The individual will work cross-functionally to ensure we have the right items represented to deliver the message to the customer.
- Serve as the liaison with marketing to align the sales plan with customer messaging
- Utilize the front page planning tool to guide item selection on the front-page of the circular on a weekly basis
- Attends and participates in monthly committee meetings
- Coordinate corporate campaigns, maintaining close communication with divisional partners to ensure alignment and transparency
- Promotional campaign support, including:
- Pulling weekly spend reports
- Tracking participating items
- Reviews and understanding competitive retails within the marketplace
- Compile weekly Competitive Ad Recap email for S&M membership and Executive Staff, analyzing key front-page items across competitors to ensure strategic pricing and promotional positioning
- Ensure all designs align with brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity
- Partner with advertising to ensure divisions remain on time and on schedule weekly
- Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth
- Execute themes of inserts and other corporate space within circular
- Collaborate with Segment Managers to support selling initiatives within our circular
- Monitoring digital coupons, must buys, images, footers, headers, etc. to ensure compliance of corporate strategy
- Conduct regular reviews of sales strategies and adjust plans as necessary
Additional Functions
Data Management & Reporting
- Pull UPCs for performance reporting, analytics, and strategic initiatives
- Monitor and approve divisional SAP promotional offers in corporate merchandising review status to ensure accuracy
- Pull and analyze weekly competitive Ads to support strategic planning and promotional decision‑making
- Support and help execute aspects of the Promotions, Marketing & Storytelling Blueprint for Growth Pillar
- Utilize the Business at a Glance event‑tagging and change‑management tool to ensure sale weeks are accurately aligned with the corporate promotional calendar
- Provide back‑up support to the Marketing Specialist during PTO and peak periods

- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Previous experience with building and pulling offers in SAP
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced corporate environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with associates at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience presenting to management and membership
- Background in marketing, retail operations, or procurement a plus
- Ability to meet all internal posting eligibility requirements

- Proven experience in sales planning, analysis, or a similar role
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
