Outside Sales Representative – Contract Manufacturing

We are looking for a driven and experienced Outside Sales Representative to expand our footprint and bring our manufacturing solutions to new clients.


The Role: We are seeking a high-energy, results-oriented "hunter" to drive new business development across the designated territory. As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be on the front lines, identifying potential B2B clients, understanding their manufacturing needs, and proposing tailored solutions. You will work closely with our internal engineering, estimating, and production teams to ensure seamless project handoffs and exceptional customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Proactively prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities within target industries (e.g., semi, medical device ,automation, industrial tech, green energy).
  • Client Engagement: Conduct regular field visits, facility tours, and face-to-face meetings with engineers, procurement managers, and C-level executives.
  • Consultative Selling: Analyze customer blueprints, specifications, and supply chain bottlenecks to provide strategic manufacturing solutions.
  • Quoting & Negotiation: Collaborate with our internal estimating and engineering teams to develop accurate quotes, present proposals, and negotiate contracts.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline metrics in the CRM.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and local market conditions to adapt sales strategies.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 or more years of outside B2B sales experience, specifically in contract manufacturing, custom machining, or a closely related technical field.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Track Record: Documented history of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and successfully penetrating new accounts.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Travel: Ability to travel within the assigned territory (valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation required).


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year (DOE) + Uncapped Commission Plan
  • Allowances: Mileage reimbursement and company-provided technology (laptop, digital subscriptions/licenses).
